Pottery Technician Opportunity – Paid Position

We are a vibrant pottery studio located in West Hampstead, seeking a dedicated Pottery Technician to join us for one eight-hour shift, every Thursday. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about ceramics and eager to learn and grow in a supportive, creative environment.

Responsibilities:

As our Pottery Technician, your tasks will include:

• Studio Maintenance: Keeping the studio tidy and organized by cleaning, recycling clay, and restocking materials.

• Trimming and Glazing: Assisting with trimming students’ pottery, glazing, waxing, and packing the kiln.

• Glaze Making: Helping prepare glazes by mixing them according to recipes.

• Kiln Work: Loading and unloading kilns, understanding firing schedules, and assisting with other kiln-related tasks.

• Studio Preparation: Setting up and assisting with classes and workshops as needed.

• Teaching Assistance: Occasionally assisting during lessons and offering support to instructors.

• Deliveries and Stock Management: Handling deliveries and tracking studio supplies.

Please note: A significant portion of the role involves cleaning and recycling clay to ensure the studio remains functional and organized.

Requirements:

• No prior experience necessary; full training will be provided. A background in ceramics is a plus and will be prioritized.

• Attention to detail and focus are crucial for tasks like glazing, trimming, and studio organization.

• Must have no physical restrictions or injuries involving hands, legs, or back.

• A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• A strong sense of responsibility, a proactive approach, and positive energy are essential for success in this role.
